Chrome plugin
The expoze Chrome extension allows you to generate predictive visual attention heatmaps directly on live websites. It analyzes the currently visible viewport of any web page to predict which elements, such as call to action buttons or product images, will capture human visual focus.
Strategic value
Testing live web pages in their native browser environment provides immediate insights into user attention. You can quickly evaluate the visual hierarchy of your own landing pages or analyze competitor websites without needing to capture manual screenshots or switch between applications.
How to install and log in to the Chrome plugin
- Go to the Chrome extension store and download the expoze extension.
- Click the puzzle icon in your browser toolbar and pin the extension for quick access.

How to generate and manage heatmaps on a web page
- Scroll to the specific part of the web page you want to analyze. The plugin only analyzes the exact area currently visible on your screen.

-
Click Create heatmap! to run the prediction.

- Review the generated heatmap overlay directly on top of the live web page.
- Click Download result! to save the heatmap locally. The screenshot and heatmap are also automatically uploaded to your web application for further analysis using Areas of Interest (AOIs).
- Scroll to a new section of the page and click Upload another to test additional viewports.
-
Refresh your browser tab at any time to remove the heatmap overlays.

💡Pro Tip
Keep in mind that analyzing each viewport deducts one credit from your account. Use the Chrome extension to quickly spot-check high-performing competitor landing pages so you can gather data-driven inspiration for your next design iteration.
