Supported ad types
junbi is specifically designed to test and optimize YouTube ads. When you upload a video, you must configure your testing environment by selecting the correct viewer mode and ad format. This ensures our predictive AI accurately benchmarks your creative against a dataset of over 20,000 real YouTube videos.
The Strategic Value
Selecting the correct setup is critical for a reliable prediction. Different rendering environments and video formats trigger fundamentally different viewing behaviors. Testing within these precise parameters ensures your performance is measured against the right scientific benchmark.
The supported YouTube ad types
You can currently test the following three core formats in junbi:
- Skippable in-stream ads: These play before, during, or after other videos. After 5 seconds, the viewer has the option to skip the ad.
- Non-skippable in-stream ads: These play before, during, or after other videos, and viewers do not have the option to skip them. junbi supports testing for these up to our maximum 90-second platform limit.
-
Bumper ads: These are 6 seconds or shorter. They play before, during, or after another video, and viewers do not have the option to skip them.

Testing other formats
junbi benchmarking is exclusively built around YouTube ads that are between 5 and 90 seconds long. Testing outside of this duration range will not yield accurate results. If you want to test a longer YouTube ad or an asset for another medium like television or a different social platform, please contact us to discuss potential options.
💡 Pro Tip:
When testing a short 6-second Bumper ad, keep a close eye on your Cognitive Ease metric over time. With such a short window to deliver your message, viewers can easily become visually overwhelmed. A high Cognitive Ease score ensures your quick narrative is processed smoothly and without confusion.
